I have been listening to the views of my friends, mostly from the East Coast, on the US Presidential elections. The present incumbent arouses palpable anger and disappointment at what is seen as anti-business sentiment. This was reflected in a presentation made by Michael Porter of HBS at Davos earlier this year. However, they are quick to add that the structural problems of the US are such that neither of the two candidates will be able to do much in the little time that they will have in office.
